Emerging Social Studies Leader Award

The Emerging Social Studies Leader Award honors student teachers or teachers within the first three years of teaching who demonstrate outstanding dedication, skill, intelligence, and caring in the practice of their art.  Teacher nominees should be Ohio Social studies educators currently student teaching or within the first three years of beginning their teaching career (must be currently employed as a classroom teacher).  Nominees should exemplify excellence in the teaching of social studies skills and content, and their colleagues should recognize them as exceptional social studies practitioners.  Classroom teacher or student teacher winners receive a framed certificate, a year’s membership in OCSS, one day paid registration for the annual conference (The day the award is presented), $100.00 cash award and publicity in their hometown newspaper.

Nomination forms will open during the OCSS Annual Conference in October.
